The extraordinary qualities of the Gall Bladder have gone too long unremarked. Gall Bladder is yang wood (jia mu), and the only fu-organ that stores essence. Its inherent nature is hard directness, and thus it is responsible for judgement and decision. Its channel travels downward, but Gall Bladder by nature prefers ascent.
